Langtang Valley Trek - 12 Days

The Langtang trek is one of the most popular trekking routes in Nepal. Langtang trekking is also called the Valley of Glacier trek. Langtang is the closest place to the massive snow-capped mountains and beautiful glaciers. The Langtang is a superb short trek that packs a lot of scenic punch into a small amount of time. The trail climbs through the Langtang valley from only 1450 m in Syabrubesi to 3870 m in Kyanjin Gompa, following the Langtang Khola River through lush forests and bamboo groves to a collection of pastures, glaciers and alpine peaks on the border with Tibet.

The Langtang Himal region is located north of the Kathmandu Valley and south of the Tibetan border. The valley of Langtang is surrounded by high peaks of great attractiveness. Some of the popular peaks are Langtang Himal, Naya Kanga, Lirung, Gangcheng, Langtang Ri and many others. Not to mention that the river is formed by the melted ice of Langtang Himal, so it is called Langtang River. The Langtang Valley has become famous since British mountaineer Bill Tilman described it as the most beautiful valley in the world. The highest peak of this region is Shishapangma or Gosaithan, 8027m in Tibet. The journey from Langtang Valley to Gosaikunda is rich in diversity.

Day to Day Itinerary

After landing at Tribhuwan International Airport, you will be greeted by our airport representative who will drop you at Hotel. After arriving at the hotel, we can rest and refresh. In the evening, a welcome dinner will be organized where you can taste Authentic Nepalese Cuisine. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Today, after breakfast, we begin a tour of many of Kathmandu's most historical and spiritual attractions. Some of these sites are considered World Heritage sites; including the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the famous 'Temple of the Monkeys' (Swayambhunath) and the Buddhist sanctuary (BuddhaNath), one of the largest stupas in the world. In the evening, there will be a pre-trip discussion during which we will meet with our hiking leader and other team members. Overnight in Kathmandu.

We leave Kathmandu in the early morning for Syabrubesi, a village that is also the starting point for our treks in the Langtang Valley. Our trip will be on a winding road through frequent switching. On a clear day, we can enjoy an exceptional view of Manaslu, Annapurna and Ganesh Himal. Our trip today ends with a descent to the small town of Syabrubesi. Night in Syabrubesi.

After breakfast, we start our trip to the Lama Hotel by the Langtang Khola. We go up and down simultaneously through forests of oaks and rhododendrons. After crossing a bridge over the Langtang Khola (small river), we climb a steep path that will take us to the Lama Hotel. Overnight at Lama Hotel.

We continue our ascent from the Lama Hotel and take advantage of the mountainous landscape with its numerous waterfalls. When we arrive in the green pastures of Ghoda Tabela, we start to see the white peaks of the Langtang range. Our trail continues through the expanding valley, passing through temporary settlements used by shepherds. We crossed a Buddhist monastery before reaching the village of Langtang, affected by the earthquake of April 2015. Overnight in Langtang Village.

After breakfast, we will start our trip to Kyangjin Gompa, one of the main monasteries in the area. We pass nearby water mills, prayer wheels, and shortens, with sacred mounds of rock on which were engraved inscriptions. We also cross the largest Mani wall in Nepal, made of stones and prayers. After the short walk, we spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the Kyangjin Gompa Buddhist Sanctuary and its surroundings with breathtaking views of the mountains. Overnight in Gyanjin Gompa.

We spend the whole day exploring Tserko Ri, which will also help us acclimatize to the altitude. We start early in the morning. The path passes through yak pastures before ascending to Tserko Ri. The view of the sunrise from the top of Tserko Ri is extraordinary. We return to Kyangjin Gompa in the afternoon and explore the beautiful monastery while enjoying the views of the Himalayas, glaciers, birds and yaks. Overnight in Gyanjin Gompa

We start our hike after breakfast and we return to the Lama Hotel. Today, most treks will be downhill, through forests and beautiful villages of Tamang. We also enjoy a different view of the Himalayas that we missed while climbing up. Overnight at Lama Hotel.

We're going back to Syabrubesi. The trek will be easier because it will be mostly downhill. Night in Syabrubesi.

After breakfast, we return to Kathmandu. On the final day, you will drive back to Kathmandu enjoying the views along the way with your amazing trek memories. The drive back to Kathmandu will take 8-9 hours. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Today you will have a full day to rest. We spend the rest of the day packing and maybe catching up on some last-minute souvenir shopping. You can enjoy a stroll around Thamel in the evening which is also known as the city of Tourist. We will celebrate our successful trip in the Langtang Valley by hosting a farewell dinner at night. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Our adventure in Nepal comes to an end today. Our airport representative will take you to the airport approximately three hours before our scheduled flight. We wish you a safe and pleasant journey.
