Trekking to Poon Hill is a short trip to Annapurna that is popular for its immense views of Mount Dhaulagiri Range. Throughout the trail, you will cross Thikhedhunga (1,540m), Ghorepani (2,850 m.) and the beautiful Machhapuchhre and Annapurna Himalaya Range. Walking past villages like Ghorepani, Ulleri, and Ghandruk you get a true picture of Nepalese life and you can understand the degree of cooperation between different ethnic groups that live together or close by. Upon arrival at the hill station of Poonhill, you can enjoy the magnificent sunrise view.

Day to Day Itinerary

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we will welcome you at the airport and take you to your travel hotel in Kathmandu. Time for relaxation. Later in the evening, we meet your next Trek with us and inform you about our trekking/assistance guide. In the evening we welcome a welcome dinner in one of the best local restaurants with music and ethnic dances. Overnight in Kathmandu.

This morning we will have breakfast at the Kathmandu hotel, and then we will go to the Kathmandu airport for the flight to Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.

Today from Pokhara we make a short journey that continues with an extraordinary landscape that crosses various rural villages to Nayapul. From where our adventure begins a warm subtropical region that follows the Modi River to Biretanti, where you can see the confluence of the two Modi and Bhurungdi Khola rivers. We will go to Bhurungdi Hola with the scenery of a waterfall, and a high green forest, and we will go along a sustainable path that passes through villages and local settlements, through several suspension bridges crossing green natural landscapes to our first nightly village, Tychedhunga. In the afternoon you can explore the local villages and cultural environment of Gurung and Magara. Overnight at Tirkhedhunga.

After breakfast at the lodge, we prepare ourselves for the long climb and begin steep climbs on the long stone steps towards the village of Ulleri with the wonderful landscape and the Himalayan landscape of Annapurna. This landscape gives you the inner strength to climb these stairs and immerse yourself in walking more. After a few hours of hard climbing with several breaks between reaching the village of Ulleri, from here the path gradually walks on the winding path through the cool shade of the forest and the sound of the flow, we continue to walk in the middle of the gigantic rhododendron forest and finally reached Ghorepani for an overnight stay. Ghorepani Deurali is a crowded hilltop town in the middle of the beautiful rhododendron forest and offers a fantastic view of the Dhaulagiri chain and the Himalayan Annapurna. In the morning we start our walk towards Poon Hill, one of the panoramic points of this Annapurna region. Along the way, a glimpse of the Annapurna promenade through the pleasant rhododendron forest. Pun Hill takes its name from the hill tribe Pun, inhabitants of the Ghorepani / Shikha village. This is a wide range of scenic landscapes from the extreme western Himalayas of Dolpo, Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna including the Mount. Machhapuchre (fishtail) and up to the Manasalu range of the Himalayas. It’s a picturesque Himalayan landscape and beautiful memorable moments that take an hour to reach the top. In good weather the views from here are impressive. After a great moment, we returned to Ghorepani for breakfast and continue to the other destination. The walk crosses the Rhododendron, the pine forest and the fir forest with the hill up and down and finally, you reach Tadapani for the night in the local tea house. This is a fantastic place around the Rhododendron forest with the closest view of Mount. Fishtail (6993 m), Annapurna South (7219 m). Enjoy the sunset views of Fishtail / Annapurna in the evening. Overnight on Mount Lodge.

This day the trek starts after breakfast from Tadapani in Bhise-Kharka for a 45-minute walk in the woods and then another 2-3 hours gently and just before Ghandruk (1952m). On this day you will have lunch in Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a beautiful village of Gurung from which you can enjoy the view of the mountains; Annapurna Sud-7219m, Himchhuli-6441m, Fishtail-6997m, Mardi Himal etc. From there we take 2 and a half hours before Sauli-Bazar at the bottom and on the flat and from Saulibazar another 1.5 hours at most. From the corner of Modi Khola to Birethanti for lunch. After lunch, we go to Nayapool for 25 minutes and return to Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.

We go back to Kathmandu in the morning. In the evening we have a farewell dinner in a traditional Nepalese restaurant with cultural shows. Overnight in Kathmandu.

The journey ends today. Our airport representative will take you to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu for your flight home.
